Setup wizard: Connect Stripe billing
Step 4 of the onboarding wizard — connect your Stripe account to enable paid subscriptions.
Why connect Stripe?
TenancyEngine uses Stripe to process payments for your tenants' subscriptions. Connecting your Stripe account allows you to:
- Offer paid plans with recurring billing
- Collect payment from tenants via the TenaBill customer portal
- Receive payouts directly to your bank account
Connect Now vs. Skip
| Option | When to choose |
|---|---|
| Connect Now | You are on a paid plan and want to start collecting revenue immediately |
| Skip for now | You are on the Starter plan or not ready to accept payments yet |
Starter plan organizations can skip this step and connect Stripe later from Applications → Billing.
Stripe Connect
Clicking Connect Now opens Stripe's onboarding flow. You will need to provide:
- Business details
- Bank account for payouts
- Identity verification (required by Stripe)
Once connected, your Stripe account ID is stored and used for all checkout sessions.
